Zeke is 1 month old!

Our little Zeke turned one month yesterday!  Another little precious gift.  I've already said it, but my heart is spilling over with love for baby Zeke.  I love staring at him.  God is so good.  Its so cool how He allows us to experience this overwhelming love for His little creations.

In the last week, a friend's baby, at 20 weeks gestation, went on to be with the Lord.  Another friend's sister's baby, at 30 weeks gestation, also was taken home to the Lord.  Then just last night, with all the flooding around here, a family's car got swept away in water- their 20 mo. old baby never made it out of his car seat.  Tragic, tragic things.  Heartbreaking.  Life is so fragile.  Life can be so bitter.  My perspective has adjusted.  I can't take these moments with my treasures, however chaotic, for granted.  I'm trying to love my boys better- hug them more.  Leave the dishes and get down and play with them.  Smell them.  Laugh with them.  Tickle them.  Oh, wouldn't it be wonderful if Jesus just came and got us now and our children wouldn't have to experience the pain and cruelty and foulness of this fallen world?

Zeke's first day at church

We went to church over the weekend- Zeke's first time and our first time in a month! The best part about going to church after missing so many times is that worship is so much more sweet! I was so thirsty for worship. It was wonderful to be back with our church family praising the Lord. :)  Here are a few of the songs we sang:

Baby Love

I can't stop staring at my newest treasure.  He is SO adorable!!  I love the way he feels in my arms.  I love smelling his skin and his breath.  I love watching him nurse.  I love watching him breathe as he sleeps.  I love his little baby sounds.  I love feeling his silky smooth skin.  Oh my goodness!  My heart is spilling over with love for this precious boy!  I'm thinkin' life cannot offer better experiences than this- at least not many.  This is a gift sent straight from heaven.  This is what I was born to do.  I am so blessed and SO SO SO thankful to be this boy's mommy.  Just sayin'...

Another BaBY & mAMA uPDatE

We're doing better!  Zeke gained 4oz since Friday, and I'm producing more milk.  I've been drinking this Traditional Medicinals Organic Mother's Milk tea and it works!!  Also, neighbor Nona heard oatmeal helps so she made me oatmeal bread and oatmeal cookies.  I'm also trying to keep a high protein diet, so I think all that should help promote healthy (and lots) of lactation.  :) At night I have Zeke sleep right up against me so he smells me... hoping that causes him to want to nurse more.  Although, I can't complain about his sleeping- he only woke up once last night!

We had a busy, busy day yesterday.  Zeke got his second PKU draw and then had his big circumcision appointment.  I always cry for that appointment because I can hear them screaming from our room down the hall.  (Mostly from being held down for the procedure.)  I always leave and go out to the waiting room after my experience with Eli.  We also brought Siah with us to distract me while I waited.  Everything went just fine, and he is recovering great.  Also, his jaundice is looking much, much better!  Then when we got home, we had some Cascade girls come over to help me paint Siah & Zeke's room.  I was very tired last night, but things are looking up!  :)

Oh, one little prayer request:  Zekers has had a stuffy nose since he was a week old (isn't that awful!?)  Please pray that clears up so he can breathe easier and not need to be propped up all the time.
